Gratitude Network fellows and alumni, please join us for an interactive workshop designed to help you identify, develop, and share your most compelling ideas with each other...and the world.

Led by Logan Smalley, TED’s Head of Education and Learning and TED-Ed’s Founding Executive Director, this 60 minute professional learning session — offered in collaboration with Gratitude Network — provides you and your fellow educators a dynamic opportunity to harness the power of storytelling and effective public speaking.

Throughout the workshop, you'll engage in:
  • Idea Exploration: Co-construct a fresh definition of what makes an idea memorable and impactful.
  • Interactive Brainstorming: Discover a practical, repeatable framework to mine your experiences as an educator.
  • Professional Speaker Coaching: Learn proven techniques from TED’s expert coaches to craft and deliver your message with confidence.
After completing the workshop, participants will also enjoy exclusive benefits, including free access to TED’s official public speaking course and unique opportunities to pitch or host a TEDx event—empowering you to amplify your voice both locally and globally.

As a part of Gratitude’s Pitch & Presence series, participants will also be able to utilize these newfound and elevated skills to enhance their preparation and application for the 2026 Virtual Changemaker Pitch Competition. The content of this workshop, along with the other two parts of the series have been designed to share alignment with the competition prompt, giving applicants a valuable opportunity to amplify their pitch and presentation.

Logan Smalley is TED's Head of Education and Learning, as well as the founding Executive Director of TED's education initiative, TED-Ed. He is also the director of the award-winning feature length documentary, Darius Goes West and the founder of Call Me Ishmael -- a participatory literary initiative that was an honoree for the National Book Foundation's Innovations in Reading prize in 2015.
Logan began his career as a high school special education teacher in his hometown of Athens, GA, and he currently lives and works in Santa Cruz, CA.
